Star Trek Drabble Fics

infinitestarlightI'm sure you've seen/heard of that song drabble meme where you put a song on random and write for the duration of said song. Apparently I was in the middle of doing one of those - paused, put it aside and forgot about it. I found a half-finished song drabble meme chillin on my computer. And it's doing no one any good sitting there. So... have a little handful of Star Trek song drabbles! \o/
Crashed – Daugherty (Star Trek: Voyager ~ Tom & B'Elanna)
She wanted to push, to punch, to scratch and tear. It came easy to her; that need to destroy things before they could get too close to hurt her. Maybe she had a little too much of her mother in her, or maybe it was just too many damn years of dealing with that kind of pain - the kind that came from just expecting to be pushed aside. The universe wasn’t a bright and shiny place for everyone, after all.
But pushing wasn’t working anymore, and she had nowhere to run. It wasn’t loneliness that was breaking her down. She was fine with being alone – even on the other side of the universe. It was just that Tom had his own way of pushing right back and maybe this time, losing wouldn’t be quite so bad.
Deluxed - Delirium (Star Trek ~ Kirk & Spock)
To say that the Earth shook was a completely inaccurate statement; they were nowhere near Earth. But that foundation beneath them, that which kept them stable and standing, groaned and rippled under the strain it was under -- such intense pressure and heat.
It was what they lived for.
As a rule, the two of them were very peaceful. Calm. Easy going. Charming. Serene. But together, they could tear apart the world.
They never would. It was against anything they’d ever believed in. But all it took was a glance. A second. A moment. And everyone could see the near-impossible gravity that pulled them together – stronger and brighter than a supernova.
The Trick Is To Keep Breathing – Garbage (Star Trek : Voyager ~ Seven of Nine)
The worst part about being human is the dreams. She didn’t used to dream. Or if she did, they were as shared as everything else in her life had ever been; the voices of a billion familiar constantly strangers swimming around in her mind. But it would have been a very organized kind of swim.
The Doctor insisted that they would get better over time. She’d lived most of her life as a nightmare. It would take a while to get over that.
She didn’t want it to take a while. She wanted to be over them now. Sleep was supposed to be a time of regeneration and replenishment. It was not a time to be haunted by memories. That was a horrible use of her time, not to mention counterproductive.
She knew there were remedies that would allow her to sleep dreamlessly. The Doctor used to give them to her. But now, he refused. Said that she would have to learn to deal with them someday and that there was no time like the present. She hadn’t liked that response.
He didn’t understand what they were like. No one did. She was trapped with the wild imagination of an eight-year-old child still terrified of the monsters in the night.
Waves and The Both of Us – Charlotte Sometimes (Star Trek: Enterprise ~ Trip & T’Pol)
This. This was illogical.
This was supposed to be over. They had agreed that it was best for the both of them.
But there they were, under the moonlight of a world that was home to neither of them with an iron-tinged sky and trees that were an odd shade of green. But the stars were more brilliant right now than she’d ever remembered the night skies of Vulcan or Earth ever being, and he looked almost silver as he stood there before her with a very soft, very human expression.
“I’ve missed you,” was all he said, and he smiled through his eyes. Blue eyes – blue eyes washed in liquid-silver light. Human eyes.
She cursed the way her heart pounded against her ribcage, the way her skin felt so… hot, despite the temperate evening. She was supposed to have much better control over these things, and yet. . .
She let him break that control of hers anyway, because she had missed him, too.
